Notice of Revision: Payroll Deductions Formulas guide (T4127) effective January 1, 2019
The Payroll Deductions Formulas guide (T4127) effective January 1, 2019 has been revised and is now available on the CRA website. What’s new:
• To reflect a proposed amendment to the CPP Regulations, the formulas for factor C have been updated and a new factor “DQ” has been introduced.
These changes will result in adjustments to other formulas which will be introduced in future releases of this guide. The Canada Revenue Agency will expect from employers their best efforts to comply with this proposed Regulation during 2019 calendar year. Starting January 1, 2020, employers should be fully compliant with respect to this Regulation.

Canada child benefit (CCB) payment issuance – December 13, 2018
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will issue the next Canada child benefit (CCB) payments on December 13, 2018. If you have not received your payment by December 20, 2018, you may want to check on its status via
MyAccount or
MyBenefits CRA mobile app. Please note that the CRA cannot provide any new information before this date.
Effective November 27, 2018, Canada Post has resumed normal postal operations. As a result, the December CCB cheques and its related provincial and territorial amounts will be delivered by December 13, 2018, as regularly scheduled.
To ensure benefit payments are delivered by December 13, the CRA may be releasing benefit cheques earlier than usual. Make sure you do not cash your cheque until the date on the cheque.

Registered plans administrators - What's new - Draft Newsletter for Industry Consultation
The Registered Plans Directorate has started a consultation process for its draft newsletter, Registered Pension Plan (RPP) Annuity Contracts under Section 147.4 of the Income Tax Act.
As this newsletter affects registered pension plan administrators, plan members, consultants and licensed annuities providers, it is important to consult with the pension industry to make sure that the newsletter adequately addresses issues related to acquiring outside annuities in satisfaction of a member’s rights to benefits under a registered pension plan.
Organizations interested in submitting their views are invited to review the

. We would appreciate receiving one submission per organization in order to streamline the consultation process.

Important Information Regarding Good and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) Returns
Are you part of the 10% of GST/HST registrants that still file your GST/HST returns on paper? Starting on May 14, 2018, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will be changing the GST34-2, Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) Return for Registrants, to a new, streamlined filing package.
Previously, if you filed GST/HST returns monthly or quarterly by paper, you would receive your returns 12 or 4 times a year, respectively. With this new process, the documents required will be mailed together in one convenient package. This package will be sent before your first return is due.
Your filing and payment due dates will remain the same.

Make your life easier: Change your return online with ReFILE
The ReFILE service now lets you change your return using your preferred certified filing software. Make sure you receive your notice of assessment before sending a change through ReFILE.
One of the best features of the ReFILE service is that it allows you to view your estimated tax results based on your changes made. Each successful change will also receive a confirmation of receipt from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), allowing you to rest easy knowing that the change is being processed.

To continue receiving the working income tax benefit advance payments, you have to do your taxes on time every year, even if you did not have income in the year. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, they also have to do their taxes every year.
